William Gallas has said that he expects Chelsea to be highly interested in the possibility of signing West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice whether in this January transfer window or the summer. He said the Blues should do well to sign the player so they can have more competition in the team and also improve their current midfield options.
Even though Chelsea splashed the cash heavily last summer to bring in a lot of bee faces to the club, they are still expected to be linked to a number of players this transfer window and Gallas has urged them to not think twice if the opportunity arises to sign Rice anytime.
Frank Lampard gave a huge hint about Chelsea being interested in the player and they came close to signing him last summer but were warded off by the pride West Ham United were holding out for. They may well return for the 22-year-old who has been urged to join Chelsea and provide stiff competition for places in the club’s midfield department against those who are currently underperforming.
The media already has reports scattered around that Rice is strongly interested in a move to Stamford Bridge and has been caught several times giving hints on social media about his said interest. The midfielder already has the experience of playing for Chelsea but at a very young age. He was released by the Blues after he failed to impress the bosses back then. However, they are interested in bringing him back home.
And now, Gallas, who also played for Chelsea in his playing days has called on his former club to not waste any time in securing the transfer deal. Gallas said Rice is technics gifted, is strong and already has Premier League experience when asked why he said Chelsea should sign the player.
